How do electric bolt locks work?
When the two core wires are energized, the current directly drive the coil to generate the electromagnetic effect.
The electromagnetic force attracts the spring piece to control theiron core switch. lt is easy to use heat, and the fluctuation of the current is easy to cause electric lock failure.
What is electronic lock used for?
Furniture – electronic locks are often used in office 'hot desking' environments or personal or temporary storage
for employees' belongings. Items such as wooden office furniture, filing cabinets and metal office furniture should be equipped with a secure locking system where privacy or security is necessary.
Are bolt locks secure?
Deadbolts are the most secure because they need to be engaged when the door is shut.
They have a unique locking device built into the bolt, that can't be forced back into the door, thus preventing unwanted entry

The following is a general installation step for an access control electric bolt drop lock, for reference only. It should be noted that during the actual installation process, it is necessary to comply with relevant safety regulations and ensure that the installation is carried out by professionals or those with relevant experience if possible:
Step 1: Preparation work
- Confirm the installation position of the electric bolt drop lock, usually it is installed on the door frame and door leaf according to the actual access control requirements.
- Prepare the necessary tools, such as electric drills, drill bits, screws, screwdrivers, measuring tools, etc.
Step 2: Mark and drill holes on the door frame
- Use a measuring tool to accurately measure and mark the position of the holes on the door frame according to the size and installation requirements of the electric bolt drop lock. Make sure the marks are accurate to ensure the correct installation of the lock.
- Select the appropriate drill bit according to the diameter of the screw or bolt of the electric bolt drop lock, and use an electric drill to drill holes at the marked positions on the door frame. When drilling, pay attention to keeping the drill bit perpendicular to the door frame surface to ensure the quality of the holes.
Step 3: Drill holes on the door leaf
- Similarly, measure and mark the corresponding positions on the door leaf, and then drill holes on the door leaf using an electric drill. Ensure that the positions of the holes on the door leaf and the door frame match accurately to facilitate the subsequent installation of the lock body and bolt.
Step 4: Install the lock body
- Insert the lock body into the hole on the door frame, align it properly, and then use screws or bolts to fix the lock body firmly on the door frame. Tighten the screws evenly to ensure that the lock body is installed stably and does not shake.
Step 5: Install the bolt
- Insert the bolt into the hole on the door leaf, and make sure it can move freely in the hole. Then, connect the bolt to the lock body according to the instructions of the electric bolt drop lock, usually through a connecting rod or other connecting parts. Ensure that the connection is firm and reliable to ensure the normal operation of the lock.
Step 6: Connect the wiring
- Connect the power cord and control signal wire of the electric bolt drop lock according to the wiring diagram provided by the manufacturer. Usually, it needs to be connected to the access control system or power supply to realize the control function of the lock. During the wiring process, pay attention to the correct connection of positive and negative poles to avoid short circuits or other problems.
Step 7: Adjust and test
- After the installation is completed, make necessary adjustments to the position and tightness of the lock body and bolt to ensure that the lock can be locked and unlocked smoothly.
- Use the access control system or test equipment to test the operation of the electric bolt drop lock to ensure that it can work normally according to the set access control rules. Check whether the lock can be locked and unlocked accurately, and whether there is any abnormal noise or jamming during the operation process.
It should be emphasized that different models and types of access control electric bolt drop locks may have some differences in installation steps and details. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully read and follow the installation instructions provided by the manufacturer during the actual installation process to ensure the correct installation and normal use of the lock.
