Reasons and solutions for the access control card reader not being able to read the card
What is the reason why the access control card reader cannot read the card? If the access control system is used normally when it is first installed, but suddenly the card reader cannot read the card after using it for a period of time, troubleshoot the problem:
a. The first step is to check whether the power supply is working normally
b. The second step is to check whether the card reader is damaged
c. The third step is to check whether there is strong magnetic interference around the card reader
2. If the above steps are eliminated and the card reader still does not read the card, it can be determined as the following fault reasons:
The card reader will generate some static electricity after being used for a period of time. The accumulation of static electricity will cause excessive power consumption. The shorter the usage time, the faster the aging of the card reader.
Solve the problem:
Before installation, choose a high-quality, high-power access control power supply. If this happens after use, separate the 12V power supply for the electric door lock and the card reader, and add another power supply to power the electric lock separately. The emphasis here: If the card reader and the controller do not use the same power supply, please connect the GND of the card reader and the GND of the controller to the same ground.
3. The card reading speed of the access control card reader is slow. The sensing distance is getting closer. Troubleshooting:
Step 1: Whether the card reader is installed on metal;
Step 2: Whether the card is swiped in and out, if the card is swiped in and out, check the distance between the two card readers.
Cause of the issue:
Some card readers are installed on metal, because metal has an interference function, and some of the radio waves emitted by the card reader are interfered with by the metal. If the card is swiped in and out, the same problem will occur if the distance between the two card readers is too close. The two card readers emit radio waves at the same time, and the mutual interference of the radio waves will cause the card to read slowly.
Solve the problem:
When installing, observe the installation environment of the card reader. If the back of the card reader is made of metal, a plastic plate (special material) should be installed behind the card reader when installing the card reader. If conditions do not permit, install a shielding plate on one of the card readers.
