The access control system is divided into an standalone access control system and a networked access control system according to the way it communicates with the computer.
(1) Standalone access control system
It cannot communicate with the computer, and the access control authority can be set on the keyboard or master card of the machine. There are also some standalone access control machines that use auxiliary keyboards with liquid crystal display as card authorization.
Components of an standalone access control system:
Standalone access control machine (including card reader and control) + door opening button + electric lock + power supply + proximity card
Some can also be connected with an external card reader to realize card swiping when entering and exiting the door.
A common standalone access control machine on the market
Advantages of the standalone access control system: the price is relatively cheap, and decoration personnel without computer knowledge can install it.
Disadvantages of the standalone access control system: Poor security, because the relay that controls the electric lock is in the all-in-one machine, and criminals can open the door by shorting out or destroying the standalone access control machine without much professional knowledge, and some even use strong magnets to open the door. Both can suck open the relay in the standalone access control machine to open the electric lock. Although some manufacturers have made improvements and put buttons and relays inside the power supply, they have not fundamentally improved the safety factor. It is quite inconvenient to set the authority of the card. If a company has multiple doors that need access control, they need to be set and canceled one by one.
Therefore, the stand-alone access control system is suitable for occasions where the security level is not high (to prevent gentlemen but not villains), the cost budget is very low, the number of doors is small, and there is no need for quick authorization and analysis of access control records.
(2) Networked access control system
It can communicate with the computer, set and analyze the access control access records through the access control management software installed on the computer. Even if the computer is not turned on, the system can also run normally offline. The software operation can set the authority and parameters, and can monitor the entry and exit of each door in real time. Can count attendance reports and so on.
Components of a networked access control system:
Access controller+card reader+exit button+communication hub+proximity card+power supply+access control management software.
Remarks: If you connect two card readers and do not connect the door-opening button, you can swipe the card when entering and exiting the door. If it is connected to a password card reader, the card + password function can be realized to prevent the card from being picked up by others and illegal entry. Higher level of security. The biometric identification device (fingerprint reader, palm-type device, etc.) with the card reader international communication interface wiegand26 output format can replace the card reader and connect to the controller to achieve a higher security level access control system.
According to the communication mode of the access control controller, it can be divided into 485 network access control system and TCP/IP network access control system
