The access control system is a modern security management system, which integrates microcomputer automatic identification technology and modern security management measures.

Considerations Before Equipment Installation

1  Before installing access control, what do you need to know about the survey site?

First of all, it is necessary to determine whether it is a network type or a stand-alone type. The networking type is more complicated. It is necessary to understand the structure of the door, what lock to install, the installation location of the card reader, the location of the management center and its distance from the control host and card reader, the wiring method, and the location of the power supply and pipeline. Is it in place etc?

Pay attention to what kind of door is equipped with what kind of lock, and do not open the position of the lock hole wrong or open, such as glass doors, frameless glass doors, and framed glass doors. Glass doors are generally equipped with electric mortise locks, and framed glass doors generally place the inserts on the door frame, so the lock hole is opened facing the door. If it is a frameless glass door, glass door clamps are used, so the lock hole must be biased towards the inside.

For wooden doors, if the thickness is not enough to install electric mortise locks, electromagnetic locks must be installed, and the position of the bracket should be selected. There are also some problems that may be encountered in actual operation. For example, what kind of decorative material is the place where the hole is opened? cause trouble.

The installation of access control generally includes the installation of card readers, controllers, door locks, and buttons. Before introducing how to install it in detail, let's talk about the installation location of the access control because the installation location of the access control directly affects the use of the access control card and the difficulty of construction, which is more important.

a. If it is a cement wall or a stone wall, you can use the external pipeline or avoid marble;

b. If it is an iron door or a stainless steel door, metal objects should be avoided when installing the access control, and the metal at the installation position of the access control can be cut off. The card reader can be raised with a plastic sheet to avoid interference;

c. In order to ensure the communication effect and increase and upgrade of equipment in the future, the installation position of the controller should also be paid attention to. If the controller and the computer use TCP/IP network communication, all the controllers can be placed in the central computer room or the weak current well with a more complete temperature control environment under the condition of convenient wiring, which is convenient for maintenance. If the distance is too far, the controller can also be connected to the network nearby.

2 The line from the card reader to the controller

It is recommended to use 8-core shielded multi-strand twisted-pair network cables (three cores are spare, if you don’t need the card reader’s sound and light feedback, the legal card can not be connected to the LED line), and the data lines Data1Data0 are mutually twisted pairs. The wire diameter is recommended to be more than 0.3 square millimeters. The longest length cannot exceed 100 meters. The shielding wire is connected to the GND of the controller. It is recommended to use a two-core wire with a diameter of more than 0.5 square millimeters for the wire from the button to the controller.

3 Button to the controller

A two-core network cable can be used, and the wire diameter is recommended to be more than 0.5 square millimeters. 

4) Electric lock to the Access controller

It is recommended to use a two-core power cord with a diameter of more than 1.0 square millimeters. If it exceeds 50 meters, consider using thicker wires, or multiple strands in parallel, and; or increase the output voltage to about 14V through the fine-tuning button of the power supply. The longest length should not exceed 100 meters. It is recommended to choose a two-core wire for the wire from the door sensor to the controller, with a wire diameter of more than 0.3 square millimeters. If you don’t need to know the switch status of the door online or don’t need the alarm function of the door not being closed for a long time and the alarm function of illegal intrusion, the door sensor wire can not be connected.

5 Pay attention to the following aspects when installing the access controller:

a. Anti-electromagnetic interference

For card readers and door opening buttons, special attention should be paid to anti-electromagnetic interference, especially the interference problems of lighting switches, electric typewriters, and computers. If conditions permit, the installation position of the card reader should be more than 30cm away from the strong power supply.

b. Prevent the attenuation of the transmission signal

The installation of the access controller should take into account the distance between the controller and the card reader, and the ideal transmission distance is within 100m. For signal transmission cables, cable shielding and signal attenuation due to long-distance transmission must be considered. During pipeline construction, wire tubes and cable trays made of steel should be used, and reliable grounding should be done.

6 Attention should be paid to the wiring during the construction of the access control system

a. All wires must be sleeved, PVC pipes and galvanized pipes are acceptable, to avoid failures caused by mice biting the lines. Strongly recommended: all wiring of this system must be separated from the 220V strong wires

b. Although the controller has a good anti-static, lightning-proof, and anti-leakage design, please ensure that the controller case and the AC ground wire are well connected and that the AC ground wire is truly grounded.
