The access control card reader is an important part of the access control system and the key equipment for the signal input of the access control system. If the access control system is compared to a person, the card reader is like the human eye, which is related to the stability of the entire access control system. If there is a problem with the quality of an access control card reader, it will cause the door to fail to open, which will affect the acceptance and use of the project. Below, I will introduce the common faults and solutions of access control card readers.
The card reader sends out electromagnetic waves at a fixed frequency, the frequency is generally 13.56MHZ. When the proximity card enters the electromagnetic wave radiation range of the card reader, it will trigger the coil on the proximity card, generate current, and trigger the antenna on the proximity card to read the card. The reader emits a signal, which contains card information. The card reader converts the level signal into a digital serial number and sends it to the local controller. The local controller uploads the information to the upper controller and finally uploads it to the access control server. The server compares the card number with the information in the database to obtain all card information.
If the access control card reader cannot read the card, should check whether the power supply is working properly? Check if the card reader is damaged. Check whether there is strong magnetic interference around the card reader. If the above steps are eliminated and the card reader still does not read the card, then the following reasons can be considered:
1. The card reader will generate some static electricity after being used for a period of time. The accumulation of static electricity will cause excessive power consumption. The shorter the usage time, the faster the aging of the card reader. Before installation, you should choose a special power supply with good quality and high power. If this happens after use, separate the power supply for the electric lock and the card reader, and add another power supply to power the card reader separately.
2. If the card reader is installed on a metal because the metal has a shielding function, part of the radio wave emitted by the card reader is shielded by the metal.
3. If the card is swiped in and out, the same problem will occur if the distance between the two card readers is too close. The two card readers emit radio waves at the same time, and the radio waves interfere with each other, which will cause slow card reading, and the card will not be read if they are too close.
The quality of the access control system is not only related to the safety of the community but also affects people's normal life. Therefore, daily care and inspection of the access control system can effectively reduce the probability of accidents.
